Final Trial & Initial Squad

PSRU U/11 FINAL TRIAL & INITIAL SQUAD SELECTION

Pontypridd Schools’ Rugby Union Junior Group would like to thank all the boys (and their parents) for taking part in our trials. Selecting a squad from the nominees is always difficult and this year was no exception. Our final trial is this Thursday; 9TH SEPTEMBER 4:15am at the Upper Boat Playing Fields.

Following our first two trials we have identified a number of players who do not need to attend the final trial. These players are already selected for our ‘Initial Training Squad’ who will meet for the first time on Saturday and will be joined by successful players from Thursday’s final trial. Please note that being in this squad does not guarantee that the boys are in the team for the whole season. - We will making a further selection before October Half-Term; - after we have held a number of training sessions and played matches against other district teams.

If your son is not included in the lists for ‘Initial Training Squad’ or ‘Final Trial’ they are not required to attend our final trial. Whilst they will naturally be disappointed, it does not necessarily mean that they will not be involved at a later date. - Every year players are ‘called-up’ after the start of the season and join our District squad after impressing in school matches. (There will be District Coaches in attendance at our monthly inter-school friendly fixtures.)
